Witam
Wysyłam pocztę zwykłym mailem (ew. mailx) i w nagłówkach mam:

Mime-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=X-iso88592
                                  ^^^^^^^^^^
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit

dokumentację (konkretnie man 1 mailx :-) coś mi się wyjaśniło:

Trzeba zdefiniować zmienną charset w pliku .mailrc:

ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES
The following variables are internal mailx program variables.
They
can be imported from the execution environment or set by the set
command at any time. The unset command can be used to erase
     variables.
[...]
harset=charset Set the default character-set. If none is
specified, mailx will attempt to use the value of
LANG to look up the system default for the user's
locale. If that is unsuccessful, the default
value of us-ascii will be used.

  Inna sprawa to czemuwpisuje charset=x-iso88592...

Można podać czcionkę w zasobach (resources). man xterm wyjaśnia jak.

wywołuje xterm'a z parametrami. Nie było z tym najmniejszego problemu.
