initial boot disk failure
I boot off this disk that DID already work on this same machine
(I've already used this same disk to instal and get going a min
instal [bin & manpages] on this same machine), but now it won't
let me. The only thing that has changed is the number and kind of
hardrives that now exist.
Now, it only allows me to boot up so far
as the "Kernel Configuration Menu" (3 choices), and then down into
the (2nd choice) "Start kernel configuration in full-screen visual
mode", after which, making the 2nd choice, I am allowed to go and choose my
active devices (alt x for exapanding, and all that). Upon quitting
and saving (or not, made no differnce) I get the following error message:
fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode
fault virtural address = 0x4
fault code = supervisor read, page not present
instruction pointer = 0x8:0f017e322
stack pointer = 0x10:0xefbffd44
frame pointer = 0x10:0xefbffd64
code segment: = base 0x0, limit 0xfffff, type 0x1b
= DPL 0, pres 1, def32 1, gran 1
processor eflags = interrupt enabled, resume, IOPL = 0
current process = 0 ()
interrupt mask = net tty bio
panic: page fault
Automatic reboot in 15 seconds - press a key on the console to abort
H E L P !
Could someone please tell me why I can't setup my bsd anymore. It woked
before.
Much thanks to any response.

It looks like you have the problem with the motherboard and the IDE - I had this problem with the HOT-555 (Shuttle/spacewalker) Motherboard and 6GB Seagate disk.
