Witam,

Mam problem z uruchomieniem GB sieciowki intela chodzacej na PCI-E (Chipset: 
Intel 82574L).
Sieciowka na plycie chodzi OK, ale ma tylko 100MBit, a ja potrzebuje 1GB.

Zainstalowalem freebsd korzystajac z karty wbudowanej na plycie, tej 
100MBit, driver fxp.
Skompilowalem kernel z obsluga kart em intela oraz z kilkoma innymi.

Dolozylem nową kartę, wyłączyłem starą w biosie ...
i wszystko chodzi OK, poza tym ze FreeBSD nie wykrywa mi tej sieciowki :-(

Sciagnalem driver ze stron Intela.
Dogrzebalem sie do wersji co niby supportuje freebsd 6, ale w readme pisza 
ze jest dla FreeBSD 7.*

Sprobowalem go skompilowac i odpalic jako modul, ale dostaje

[root@serwer ~]# kldload if_em.ko

Sprobuje jeszcze wywalic z samego jadra  tendriver do em, i ponownie 
zaladowac sam modul pochodzacy ze stron Intela, nie wiem jednak czy to cos 
da.
Oczywiscie googlea pytalem. Moze ktos z Was sie natknal na podobny problem i 
moze mi cos podpowiedziec, z gory wielkie dzieki.

wylaczenie tego modulu w jadrze nie pomoglo :-(

sprobuje wkompilowac nowe sterowniki do jadra, zgodnie z instrukcja

4. To compile the driver into the kernel, enter:

        cd em-x.x.x/src
        cp *.[ch] /usr/src/sys/dev/em

        Edit the kernel configuration file (i.e., GENERIC or MYKERNEL) in
        /usr/src/sys/i386/conf, and ensure the following line is present:
        device em

Udalo mi sie zamknac temat.

Driver w wersji 6.9.8 ruszyl jako modul na FreeBSD 6.4 :-)
Nie probowalem jeszcze wkompilowywac go w jadro, ale skoro modul dziala to 
pewnie skompilowac tez sie da. Najwazniejsze ze karta zadzialala, nie wiem 
jeszcze jak bedzie ze stabilnoscia, ale to ewentualny temat na inny watek.
