dalej nie rozumiem , po co do postgresa glibc pod FreeBSD ?

CREATE DATABASE bazadanych WITH encoding='latin2'; (ew. utf-8)

i wszystko powinno działać (przynajmniej mi działa, pg 7.4.2)

template1=# create database piczka with encoding = 'utf-8';
