I am creating an SQL update statement (programmatically in VB) and I am trying to insert a field which includes the ' character. This of courses is the character that signifies the begin & ending of a string in SQL. I know it can be done because the data in the database already has the ' character in many records. Example Update archive set customer = 'joe video', description = 'some movie' where num = 1234 Work's Update archive set customer = 'joe's video', description = 'some movie' where num = 1234 Doesn't work because the joe's has a ' and then everything is thrown off. Is there a way to "force" this? D Myers
