Konfiguracja - pytanie lamerskie

Witam, Mam problem ze skonfigurowaniem perla 5.8.8 do pracy z Openperl. W niższaj wersji konfiguracja standardowa umożliwiała mi debugowanie skryptów. W 5.8.8 dostaję komunikat o pustej zmiennej perl5db. W pakiecie instalacyjnym piszą o dodaniu wartości do rejestrów, jednak jak dam odwołanie do bin i lib efekt jest taki sam. Czy ktoś miał podobny problem - proszę o pomoc. Jednocześnie prosze o wyrozumiałość - nie jestem programistą, natomiast perla wykozystuję aby usprawnić swoją pracę. Dzięki za ewentualną pomoc.
