problem z style.marginLeft pod IE

pod FF i innych działa mi
objtomove.style.marginLeft=xleft+movestep+'px'
pod IE wywala:
Nieprawidłowy argument.
Ale
objtomove.style.marginLeft='222px'
pod IE działa.
Jeżeli składam wartośc do kupy w osobnej zmienne a potem ją podaję, np
var pixl=xleft+movestep+'px'
objtomove.style.marginLeft=pixl
też mi wywala błąd, ten sam.

alert(typeof xleft +" | "+ typeof movestep);
objtomove.style.marginLeft=xleft+movestep+'px';

Podaj rezultat powyższego w IE.
