Może troche off topic ale co się mi rzuca w oczy to to że ta obsługa  XMLHttpRequest jest raczej "niskopoziomowa". Czy nie lepiej używać jakiegoś przenośnego ( między przeglądarkami ) wraper -a na XMLHttpRequest np. jQuery.ajax  ?
