Witam wszystkich

Gdy pisze na stronie:
    ss= "document.forma.a4.value";
    eval(ss) = 100;
jest blad (przegladarka IE5)

Jednak gdy napisze
  alert(eval(ss));
jest OK

Jak moge przypisac wartosc do tego, co zwraca eval() ?

Z gory dzieki za wszelkie sugestie
