I have been tasked with developing a solution that allows the users of our company intranet to control their scanners from our web pages. We've decided to use Java to perform this task, and at this point I am planning to call a Java applet from HTML, which will then call Java beans. I am having a hard time figuring out how to do this. I think I need to use RMI and implement an interface to the servers (beans) from the client (applet). Where can I go to find some examples of this? Also, the beans will hopefully be able to utilize the TWAIN protocol for scanners. It would be icing on the cake if anyone knows where I could go for information on using TWAIN commands to control TWAIN compatible scanners. Curt Emich cemich@clark.net
