pobieranie nula z hashmapy

Witam,
Mam hashMap<String,Double> i pobieram
iloraz=hmFiles.get(key);

Problem w tym, że key nie istnieje. Jak zbadac

if (iloraz == null ) ?

(pokretnie to opisalem, ale mam nadzieje, ze wiadomo o co biega )
