Sorry about that little misprint. A friend of mine is considering purchasing
the Flight Simulator 4.0 Editor. I was wondering if this editor will allow you
to enter VOR/DME locations?

Yes, you can add VOR/DME, NDB's, ILS and Markers. You can choose the locations
and frequencies. Unfortunately, you cannot add ATIS/ATC communications, which
was a major disappointment for me. Some of the other problems are:

- all of the terrain features you add are fully visible at night. While this
is ok for urban areas, it is unrealistic for rural terrain such as highways
  and fields.

- Forget about designing your entire city down to the last lane and building.
While this is technically possible if you have enough memory, the game
slows down with every object added. I modeled my local airport, rivers, main
roads and downtown area, and on my 286-12 the speed is pretty slow. Obviously
a faster machine would allow more terrain to be incorporated.

- The 747 simulator that comes with the scenery designer has a new digital
instrument panel which seems to slow the simulation by about 50%.

- The "dots" ground scenery option looks great when taking off at night.
Unfortunately, the dots(streetlights) move with you even as you fly out
into the dark countryside. Also the "streets" which the dots represent
are oriented in a NW-SE grid, while the streets in my city are mostly
running N-S and E-W. The scenery designer does not allow you to lay your
  own custom dot pattern.

- More on "dots": On the old Sublogic FS 2 on the C64, the taxiways at night
were lit by blue lights along the edges of the taxiway, while the taxiway
surface itself was dark. This is how things look in real life,as anyone
who has landed at a big airport at night knows. Yet in FS4 the taxiways
are always shown as fully lit grey roads with no edge lighting.

Nevertheless, the scenery designer is worth getting. It is the only way I can
practice flying over my home city. I plan to eventually create a database of
all towns and airports in my area (Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada). If everyone
who owns FS4 and the Scenery Designer does the same, we should be able to
create a fully detailed North American (World?) datebase!

Regards, Curt.

Copying them to another set of disks is easy:

copy a:*.* b:*.*

Unfortunatly, the games are copy-protected, so you won't be able to play
off any disks except the originals (not even hard disk).

There is no way to copy them over (I've called Origin and asked them), unless
you know someone who's written a hacking program for just that purpose.
