UW postscript file problem
#855

I downloaded the uw postcript file (I think it was on
ucbvax at berkley) , and can't get it to print.
I think the problem has something to do with the file beginning
with

%!PS-AdobeFont-1.0

instead of

%!PS-Adobe-1.0

I think it is trying to define a font in the file and the ps printer
here can't handle that. Is there a way to convert it into an
ordinary ps file?

I downloaded and printed it without problems.

It doesn't matter what you write behind the '%!'
PostScript just checks if the file is beginning with '%!'.
All characters behind these two are ignored. Fonts are declared otherwise.
But I don't know what your problem is. I've heard of people trying to
print ps-files on a non-ps-printer...

It most definitely is a postcript printer, but it apparently does not
know what to do with files that define their own fonts. The file
does contain several type1 fonts because these fonts are not built in to
the printer.

I successfully printed the file on an Apple Laserwriter Plus.
