Can anyone out there upload a gambyt01.zip in uudecode form?
I always have problems unzip files that I FTP. :( Oh, if one of you
do upload a copy, can u seperate it into 2 parts? I'm not sure if I
will have enough disk space to hold the file. Thanx in advance.

I'm not sure I'm qualified to comment on this too much (perhaps the
net gods can jump in here), but is there a bandwidth problem by
posting a 300+Kbyte .zip file on the net? I'd be more than happy to
comply, but wasn't sure if it is "appropriate".

Mr. Dippold, can you jump in here and take this one? Please advise
about this for future issues. I'd be more than happy to do this, but
don't know if it's frowned upon or not.

Theres not necassarily a problem with bandwidth, but there is a problem
with the maximum size of files that certain mail servers will handle. I
think the limit is around 40-50k per file but I'm not sure. If you're
really interested in the specifics, I'd advice you to check out the
information in one of the "pictures" hierarchy on readnews.

Usually, they will have detailed information on uuencoding/uudecoding.
Basically, it becomes neccassary to break the file in to a number of
smaller files. There are uuncoders to do this automatically. Also,
its unadvisable to post uuencoded files of any type on a group not
specifically designed for it. I think there is a group specifically
for ibmpc binarys, but I don't remember the name of it.

Hope I was at least of some help. The pictures group are deffinately
the best source of uuencoding/uudecoding info.

Here I is! Posting large binaries to the net in normal groups is very
much frowned on. That's what the binaries groups are for. I would
suggest that you submit it to comp.sys.binaries.ibm.pc, which is there
for just such a a purpose. In fact, I should have suggested that much
earlier... that'll get you lots of distribution. Or I can do that,
just say the woid.

Voila! It's no longer water, it's wine. Hey, I don't need all of you to
believe me, just twelve of you.

O.K. I'm saying tyhe woid! :-) Please do the honors, if you please.
It probably needs to be split into several pieces, and I'm not sure
yet how that is done without error. Thanks in advance, Ron. Please
post us a message here when you do this so we can go snag it if we
want it, o.k.? Sure appreciate it.

Yeah, same here. I hope you can post the future issues of GameBytes
in UUDECODE format too. Many thanx. :)
