I just started UW yesterday, and have finished the 1st level and
now am on second, so if you haven't gotten that far yet, don't
read any further!




OK, I've talked to all the Mountain Folk I could find, and have searched
about half the second level.  Where the hell do you find this guy Shak or
whatever his name is?  So far I'm armed with a worn short sword and I
keep getting my ass kicked (the combat system in UW sucks, IMHO).  I
assume this guy can repair my sword, or I can barter for better weapons.
I'm up to level 6 already, but my character seems to fight like a wussy!
I hope it's just due to the poor weapons and armor.  I've accumulated a
small amount of wealth, I'd like to put it work!


Oh, anybody experience problems with losing caches?  I recall U6 had a
bug where if you left stuff laying around it would disappear.  I'd like
to lighten my load some more (left some loot on Level 1) by leaving a
few things in a corner somewhere.

  He's way back in the mines. Keep refering to your map, and heading the
directions you havn't explored.

   Really? I rather like the combat system. Its not very good for range
weapons, but for stuff like swords, its just fine. However...

  ...check your strength, your dexterity, your attack, and your sword skills.
That could be why.

  There seems to be one bug that occasionally pops up (FTP the fix off
WUARCHIVE), but its not specificly related to caches. If the bug pops up,
and you save your game, you basicly have to restart anyway, so don't worry
about it. I started leaving anything I found on one place on each level so
that when I needed to go back and look for it, I could find it.
