Mouse Issue With Links 2001

I am having a problem with Links 2001. I recently upgraded my system to an
Intel PIII 933 with an Intel D815EEA motherboard. For a video card I have a
Creative Labs Annihilator 2 with the GeForce2 GTS chipset.

I have tried both the Creative drivers and the NVidia drivers for the
graphics board. Both have the same problems within Links 2001.

Using the classic swing, as soon as I click the swing meter the tee shaped
cursor disappears even though the swing meter functions correctly. As soon
as the shot is completed and the ball lands the dialogue screen to continue
is displayed and then the tee shaped cursor reappears. This makes the game
virtually impossible to play.

Before the upgrade, the game worked great with the same video card, but an
ASUS CUSL2 motherboard. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the video
drivers and the Links 2001 game, but the problem persists. I have tried
switching from my Logitech Optical Mouse to a Microsoft Optical Mouse, but
still get the same results. There are no conflicts within the device
manager so I am looking for any ideas that someone may have.

Thanks.

I understand games and sport, but what does space-sim have to do
with Golf?

These are the voyages of the starship Titleist 1. Its 5 year mission, to
boldly go where no Spaceball has gone before!
