http://icarus.weber.edu/home/roaldp/index.html This is about an Anacreon: Reconstruction 4021 web page that I have put up for Anacreon: Reconstruction 4021, an old, but excellent space strategy game. As in Master Of Orion, Stars!!, VGA Planets, or any other of those space empire type games, you play the part of a budding Emperor, a would-be empire-builder. To do this you have fleets of fighter squadrons, jumpships, hunterkillers, and more at your disposal. While initially beginning with only a few old ships left over from a previous era, there are worlds out there to be conquered and enlightened with the Empire's technology, and soon they'll be assembling factories, mining metals, and building starships. Of course, other empires are out there also, and they'll be fighting to develop technologies, conquer worlds, and unify the galaxy before you. After searching for countless hours in vain looking for an Anacreon site, or place where it could be discussed, the latest version and new scenarios downloaded, strategies, tips, etc, could be swapped, I decided to make my own. Apparently, the copyright has expired on Anacreon, and since the author, George Moromisato, seems to have lost all interest in it and has not renewed the copyright, Anacreon has become Freeware, meaning that any of you that have been playing only the basic, unregistered version can now play the full version free. Personally, I made repeated phone calls to TMA, and sent a check to order the full version, but never got anything but an answering machine and the check was never cashed. On my site, I have the latest full version of Anacreon, version 1.30, plus all the scenarios I have come across to date for download, as well as a message board to discuss Anacreon with other players. I'm working on an Anacreon FAQ, and hope to soon put up a page where people who wish to play Anacreon by email can be contacted, or upload their turn to the page for others to download. Plus, I will soon be putting up some other classic retro games from years past. I have posted this message to all of you because I feel this is one of the best games I have ever played, with solid gameplay despite the ASCII graphics, and I know that there are many others out there who, like me, could not even find a place to download it, much less any information on the game. I think this game is great, and I wanted to make a place for Anacreon: Reconstruction 4021 gamers to go to. However, this site is worthless if no one knows about it, thus this posting. I did this as the only way I can think of to let people who already like Anacreon know about this page. If you've never heard of the game before, check out the site, as I think you could soon discover how fun of a game it is. The Anacreon site is listed at the top of this posting, and listed again here below: http://icarus.weber.edu/home/roaldp/index.html Thank you so much for your time, and I hope to see you on there soon! Sincerely, (TJ) Roald Peterson III PS Please respond to this posting with any comments, questions, queries or requests, or just simply to let me know that you read it, and what you think. Thanks again!
