Hi all, I'm new to this NG, so sorry if this question has been posted before but I couldn't find anything in this direction. Could someone please explain me how I set the color depth in Delta Force 2? Especially when there's a lot of bad guys running around, my system gets slow :-( so actually I'm looking for a way to improve speed. BTW what's the best video card for this game? My setup: C366 @ 566 MHz V770 non Ultra WD Expert 7200 rpm All plpugged into an Asus P2B-F Thanks in advance!

Yup this games is a real power hog! Why? Voxels! What the hell are Voxels? They are multi-dimensional polygons rendered in software mode. They give you those really pretty lanscapes that run forever but man do they eat up the power. We are running it on a P3-733 and it's kinda slow. How to speed it up? Step one: Go to the otions screen and run it at 16 bit color depth Step two: Run in software mode not hardware mode Step three: Reduce resolution to 640x 480 NO MORE! Step four: Turn off special effects rain snow etc. When all else fails reduce resolution again below 640. By doing this I was able to get it to play pretty well. If I did'nt like the game so much I'd probably say piss on it, but ya gotta love those online sniper kills!!!! Happy Sniping! But as far as I know I can't set the color depth in the game's options menu. There's a possibility to change resolution, hardware/software mode, and to switch "turbo" on/off. Or does the game "inherrit" Windows' color depth? BTW yes it's a great game, isn't it? It's definately my latest and so far worst addiction ;-) Bye!

Okay I know you can set color depth! This has been off my box for awhile so I will re-load and fiqure out how you do that. My brother a.k.a. HEADHUNTER needs his ass kicked anyway and has been asking me to play him online. On a 32 meg card like the ultra I am sure you should be able to set depth. Running in 32 vs 16 I did'nt see much of a loss in 16. Let me know if what I suggested Helped! XxSATANxX Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
