Does a Co-op FPS exist anymore?

I pretty much hate deathmatches.

In the old days of Doom and Quake, I could team up with my friends to
fight against the evil aliens.

Does a cooperative-against-the-computer game still exist?

Any recommendations appreciated.

Thanks,

Wade

Hey Wade, I hear you there! My wife and I used to love playing Blood, Hexen
2, and Heretic 2, especially (we like the more Gothic and medieval
atmosphere vs. the modern, tech stuff). What we're looking for is more
along the lines of TWO person cooperative - not the CTF type team play. We
have a home LAN (or via serial link) and love to blast away together,
working together to defeat the baddies - and NOT connect over the internet
to play with a bunch of strangers. When Blood2 came out, we were waiting so
anxiously for the Co-op play..... but Monolith never came through with it.

Any recommendations for good 2-person co-op games would be appreciated.

System Shock 2 and Rogue Spear. Assault in Unreal Tournament. If you can
get used to the controls, Descent 3 is great.

System Shock 2 sounds perfect for you - you play throught the full
single-player game.

Rogue Spear is superb. My wife and I have been hosting coop games for
months. System Shock 2 also has coop mode, but with less replayability
value in my opinion.

No question, I recommend Rogue Spear 100% . It has replaced Q2 as our Co-op game
of choice.
