The pointer is in a black box, putting it over a menu option gives a
blue rectangle. The 'smoke' when the game starts off is also in black
boxes.

Anyone have the same card and get it to work properly?

I believe checking that "all additive" (or something) checkbox in the
video setup screen of the launcher might help you out.
