Wingman Attack joystick problem

Hi All,

The other day I bought a Logitech Wingman Attack joystick. It does
not work very well. Had no problems installing, calibrating, and testing
on my Win98 Pentium MMX. The test screen suggests that the device works
correctly. But when I play my games (tried 3 different ones), the
stick does not react to movement. Instead I keep turning left
continuously,
it seems like it keeps transmitting the equivalent of left-arrow. This
also screws up things like option menus.

Logitech support sez if it works in test mode, the problem must be
in my games setups. May be true but 3 different games all react exactly
the same once I tel them to use the joystick, so I think it must be
something more basic. Perhaps I should upgrade drivers and DirectX ?

Thanks for any ideas !

Cheers,

	Chris

PS - Anyone else using this particular type of joystick ? It does not
seem
to be a very current model, either it's very old or very new. Any
experiences
appreciated.

I had a similar problem with my CYBERMAN II, check out if the games are
using 'Windows Joystick' or 'wingman'. My problem was fixed ( in each
game I tried by using the other one and not what I thought it should be
(even caused the circling effect in one game by assuming first). Try it
out for your self. Good luck.
