Anyone out there a fan of the helicopter game LHX? If so, what are some of your high scores and high rankings? I've only gotten to 1st. Lt. and am baffled how to get more. scw ****************************************************** Scott C. Isn't it a great game?????!!!!!! Rank seems to be points-dependent; I got a new rank every 10,000 points or so. I can't stand those 38mm FFARs. The only way I can hit is to fly in REALLY low and REALLY slow, aim the nose at the target, and blast. Is there a better way????? -- Col. Tom

By keeping backups of my progress I've gotten around 73k points. As I recall my top score is around 1800 for one mission, and I've worked my skills up to medium in Europe. It's great fun once you get into it... :) As best as I remember I became colonel at around 30-40k points, and this brings me to wonder if there is any more ranks. I've also got at least one of most of the medals (including purple hearts), but as yet there's still 1 or 2 empty spots. I'll keep plugging away.... Col. Meetch :)

LHX - a chopper simulator. You get to fly one of: Black hawk, Apache, LHX attack chopper, or an Osprey (YES!) It's pretty touchy at the controls in an Osprey, but I prefer it for rescue missions flying at 50 to 200 feet. :) >Will it run on my 4.77MHz 8088? Like I said before, LHX is smoother and no-nonsense, though the missions are tons of entertainment for the average anarchist. Ahhhh, nothing like lining up a camel or man with AK47 or rocket launcher in yer sights as you squeeeze the trigger ever-so gently... The graphics may not be VGA, but when you know what you're doing I find it very responsive and not without realism. Also, do you get to fly an Osprey in Gunship 2000? No! It's gotta be almost, if not on it's own in having both winged and vertical takeoff/landing capabilities. A thoroughly entertaining game, and more than worth what you pay for it. > Thanx, > Greg P. - Meetch. :)

Walker >walk...@esvax.dnet.dupont.com > Yes, I am a LHX fan. I've made it to colonel... sort of. I found a way to "cheat". There's a file in the lhx directory called lhx.cfg. This file contains all the information about the pilot, such as score, rank, etc. Make a copy of this file to disk periodically, and when you get killed simply copy it back to your lhx directory and you "are not dead anymore". I am not *positive* about this, but I believe that you must be playing at least level three to advance rank very fast. Terry ter...@cae.wisc.edu
