If I remember right from an interview of Richard Garriott posted on several groups awhile ago, Origin is planning to add network multi-player capabilities starting with U8. He also mentioned something about U10 incorporating 'virtual reality,' which might be something like Underworld's interface. Also that they're planning to do away with the party approach to the game-- argh! One of my favorite aspects... I'm just repeating stuff here, I'm not sure of its validity. I read an interview in a UK mag with Richard Garriot. In it he stated that Origin had spoken to a company who is making VR goggles (Sega?) and they were considering using them for U10 to have a real VR Britannia! Apparently the goggles would sell for about 200-250 UK pounds though (this is all from memory so don't hold me to this!). I for one would buy a pair for U10 alone! Though I wonder what a bug looks like in 3D ? ;-) Jamie.

I think this is along the lines of their plan to sell releases of Ultima
after Ultima 8 on CD-ROM only. They're figureing that by the time they go
to market, these things will have fallen in price to a point where they're
really not that expensive. If the history of pricing on computers is a guide,
then they're probobly right.

In a store in Boston (Electronics Boutique, Cambridge Side Galleria),
I recently saw U1 through U6 on CD-ROM for $80.
Not bad.
