While hacking around with Wolfenstein 3-D (shareware version), I discovered a debugging mode which was left in by Id. This is NOT the same as the cheat password that you get when you register. It lets you do much more, such as display various internal data, become invincible, warp to any level, play in slow motion, walk through walls, view the level map from above (rather than inside), and, best of all, change the screen border color. (Wow!) Entering this mode is fairly simple, but it's not something that you could discover by accident. I'm not trying to show off (well, maybe a little bit. :-P). If you're interested in this, mail me. If there's a lot of interest, I'll post it. If someone from Apogee or Id asks me not to distribute this, I'll respect their wishes. (Is anyone from Apogee or Id on the Usenet?) Finally, if this is old news, somebody tell me and I'll shut up. I also deciphered the level format, but it looks like I was beaten to it. I'm now working on Commander Keen... -- Ben Rudiak-Gould brud...@isis.cs.du.edu "The most important thing to remember whilst writing a thesis is that the quicker you get behind, the more time you have left to catch up." -- The Usenet Oracle

The "GOD MODE" is especially useful; you can get shot infinite number of times and still have 100% health!!! Ok, I'm not going to spoil it for you, so you can tell the others about it. :-)
