Help, please. I've got Wolf 3d but can't get it to run. If I run it in DOS it can't execute, and if I run it in Windows (3.0) it tells me it can't get enough memory to run. I have a 386 with 2 Mb RAM and an Oak VGA/SVGA card. Any ideas are appreciated. Aaron Packman aa...@catlech.edu

That should do for a while, then add TSR gradually back in till you find out which one goes over the memory threshold. Bob Colello Col...@cheshire.oxy.edu

I have a 486sx-20, w/ 4 MB's of memory, and I use Windows 3.1 as my primary shell. When I first got Wolf 3d, I couldn't even run it when I exited Windows due to memory complaints from Wolfenstein. So, I used the PIF editor, put together a PIF for Wolfenstein that allocated it 224 KB of main RAM, and 300 KB of EMS. After that, I could run Wolfenstein from Windows with no problems. I even made an icon for it. :-) Making a PIF for Wolfenstein is a lot easier than stripping your autoexec.bat file. I think 2 MB should be just enough to do it if you run Windows in Standard Mode. -- ______ David "Bealzebub" Beals \::::/ e-mail: be...@MDPHYA.UMASSD.EDU Phone # 508-636-9025 \::/ Compuserve: 76256,3417 518-459-8905 \/ * Gay and proud of it! *

I have a little pet peave about people who run way too many TSR's. I have a friend with a 1 meg machine who runs over 150K in TSR's thus leaving only about 480K free. Then he wonders why things don't run. Also, I noticed that Wolf is a bit slower in Windows 3.1 than DOS when running on my 386/33 with 4 megs. Also, It doesn't multitask well when switching between apps. Just my $.02. Bob Col...@cheshire.oxy.edu
