You've done the right things so far. I had exactly the same problem. Here
is the solution that I came up with (probably not the only one - or even
the best!).

The clicking sound seems to be associated with Cirrus Logig VESA Video
cards. There seem to be three possible workarounds.

1.	Run the game in the lower resolution (MCGA?)
2.	Try running the game in a full screen DOS windows under Windows
3.	Prior to running the game, load the generic VESA driver supplied
with the game. It's on Disk2.

I'm using the third option. It's not perfect by any means, but the game
plays (and sounds) good. In doing this I have, however, lost the music
during the intro scene (New Game - you know, the violin and thunder bit).
I experimented with the IRQ settings, and ended up changing the IRQ of my
SB16 from 7 to 5 to accomodate T7G.Five is definately the best setting on
my machine. I have a BBS number for ID in the US, and I'll post it when I
find the bit of paper it's written on. I called the BBS, but there wasn't
any patches for this problem as of May 95.

Hope this helps.
