I've heard of a game called Ultrabots (by Data East?) that looks like Mech
Warrior but with smoother 256 color graphics. Also, I've also heard that this
game (and Mechwarrior) would be ported to the SNES.

I thought Ultrabots was supposed to be out months ago, but I haven't seen it
or heard about it for a long time (this post reminded me). Anyone know when
it'll be out?

Also, I've heard stories (probably just people idly daydreaming) of a Mech
Warrior 2 that had 2 person modem capabilities.

If you want a decent public domain Mechwarrior, try Mega255 at wuarchive.wustl.
edu (ftp site). Nice graphics, not much in control or strategy. (I'm not sure
if this is public domain, shareware, or what).
