Skara Brae is indeed in Scotland. It is a village in the Orkney Islands which was buried by sand in a storm, and was excavated fairly recently (i.e. this or last century). I can't remember exactly how old it was, but many similar settlements and monuments on the island are 4-5,000 B.C. "Brae" is Scots for hill or slope, as in "we twa hae rin aboot the braes" in Auld Lang Syne. Now wasn't that interesting....? Iain
