Although my efforts have been concentrated primarily in other
areas, as a Native American, one thing I have often wondered
about is, why hasn't anybody brought up how pervasive racial
discrimination is at Microsoft?

In 1990, just before she left to work at Apple, a Native
American friend and coworker (at Microsoft) told me how upset
she felt when her boss called her into his office and told
her how, one way or another, he was going to force her out
because he did not believe American Indians could write
decent code.

Most of the minority employees at Microsoft are, according
to my sources, concentrated in administrative functions.
I am aware of a case where a black who asked to go on
salary several times was denied despite that whites with
less seniority doing the same job ARE on salary.

I think that one of these days this is going to become a
very significant issue for Microsoft. But then, that's
just my opinion, I could be wrong.
