huh? lemme killim.  JOKE! don't investigate me. I can say anything as
long as it's a joke.

  Bill Gates is the railroad baron of our day.  Buying up or shutting
out competitors, using possibly questionable (let's be charitable here)
business practices, selling the people a product that'll work, even if
it's a mediocre and overpriced version of it and not what they really
_want_, staying a jump ahead of and better funded than the people's
lawyers, amassing a fortune and planning to retire before the dirt
catches up with him and build goodwill by donating to fashionable
causes.
  These people are freaks of nature, and they're always around.  Another
consolation is that the empire rarely lasts more than a generation.
