I run a gaming site (www.game3.co.uk) for the gamecube so I hope that I know
what people want.
I think that most people want a site that has good reviews of every game, in
depth reviews as well as a quick summary at the bottom, scoring the game is
also important to know if it is worth reading in depth. Up to date news is
also important, but for people to trust it you need to have a good
reputation for accuracy, rumours are fine as long as they turn out to be
accurate otherwise you won't be trusted.

If you are a multiplatform site it is also important to have different
reviews for each platform, but not to flame the other platform. Free is also
a big factor for most people, I know that it means ads but most people don't
mind really (when compared to subscribing). Personally I would like to see
sites provide all content with ads (possible exception of large media files)
for free with a cheap sunscription available to remove al ads. By cheap I
mean <$5 per year which is farf more than an advertising would generate
anyway.
