I'm convinced it's some kind of internal race condition or memory garbage bug and somehow, rigs with faster framerates are more susceptible to it. One way I dealt with it was to turn additional graphic effects (fog) on. I heard someone else say they fixed it by upping the resolution. Somehow, putting more load on the CPU makes the bug less likely to happen. Another thing that makes me think this is timing related is that no one seemed to hit in the first few months after release but then more and more people started reporting it (presumably as the average quality of hardware out there got better.) Of course, the last resort is to walk. The Twon-ha is just for convenience and you won't be blocked or miss out on any plot because of an inability to ride it. But it's frustrating, both because the maps are so big and because it was so much fun charging down the streets of Okriana, watching the soldiers eat my dust and the smelly beast spraying Twonha-snot all over the pathetic citizens.
