1. Cast the BLUBBA spell, summoning a whale. The spell book gets knocked out
   of your hands.

2. Torch the spell book with the flame thrower.

3. Open the EKSLASIAS (sp?) spell box, which, I believe, falls out of the
Appliance when Joey sits on it. You win.

The trick is that if you just open the spell box, the spell isn't cast; it
just goes into the book. You can't cast a spell from the book if you're
not holding the book, so you'd have to pick up the book (which got knocked
out of your hands). However, picking up the book would take your final turn,
and you'd lose the game.

I tried to get around this set-up by not opening the BLUBBA box until
the end of the game and leaving the spell book in the previous room, where
it wouldn't interfere with the casting of the EKSLASIAS spell. This way, I'd
be able to finish the game with one less move than I was supposed to, giving
me a feeling of clever defiance. :) But, even if the book isn't in the room,
the casting of the BLUBBA spell (or maybe the opening of the EKSLASIAS box)
makes it appear; so, you have to use the flame thrower. Oh well, have fun.
And give "SPELLCASTING 201: The Sorceror's Appliance" a try. It's good,
but tough. If you have any more questions, e-mail me and save yourself the
call to their 900 number clue line.
