Quad link lasers, set laser power to max, dump all lasers into shields. 2. During entire mission, continue dumping lasers to shields as necessary to keep shields full. 3. Take out the three normal ties, which by this time should be a piece of cake. 4. Take out the three advanced ties, which will take some practice. 5. Dip into the trench just long enough to (a) get the exhaust port to appear on your targeting computer and (b) determine whether you're heading towards or away from the exhaust port and then climb above the trench, bobbing and weaving to avoid tower lasers. 6. Fly above the trench, bobbing and weaving, until you're about 2 klicks away from the exhaust port. 7. Descend into trench at about 1.5 klicks from exhaust port. 8. Aim and fire. Notes: The earliest I managed to kill all the fighters and begin the trench run was just over 11 minutes to go, which just barely allowed mission completion within the time limits. You can, however, complete the mission even after time has expired. I only used two missiles on the exhaust port. You have six. One technique to help get the advanced ties is to use one missile on each one. The missile won't (or will very rarely) hit the advanced tie, but it will cause the advanced tie to break its normal flight pattern to avoid it. This _some times_ gives you better shots. You'll learn that the pattern flown by the advanced ties includes one run directly away from you. Launch the missile during this run. During the entire fight pattern of the advanced tie you only get 3-4 good "looks". Don't miss or it will take you forever. Urthur
