Yeah, I know, most of you couldn't give a flying f@#%$&!, but it meant something to me and the other Alliance pilots that use my computer. The way I did it was to engage the fighters until all were taken out, then go for the trench. The advanced ones took me awhile until I got used to their flight patterns. When they were all destroyed (except one that went spinning off into space:-) ) I had 2 mins mission time to go and was 20km up from the surface! mission time isn't important, though, as it had long expired by the time I finished the mission. I just LOVE the trench, it was very well done, and the speed boost R2 gives you is a real adrenalin rush. Final score 64howevermanyzeros with every award in the game. There are a few things I thought would have improved the game, mostly consistancy with the movies. It wouldn't have taken much to put in a "leaving Yavin base" screen before the last mission rather than the usual defiance bit. I think it was stupid to go in on your own, I wanted something like 3 Xs going for the trench while the Ys take out some towers. Much of the excitement of this scene in the movies was having comrades burst into a million glowing splinters that rain down on the trench. Oh well, now I'll try things like diving at the DS surface with "no collisions" turned on, turn on "invincibility" to have a good look at that exhaust port, things like that. If you haven't got up to the DS yet, I recommend NOT using a cheat and looking at it. It really heightens the excitement when you finally see it. As they said in ANH: "Look at the size of that thing!" "Cut the chatter, Blue two". Cheers, Cav.
