my god; wood my eyes were tore from my hed afore i heard
that word "asylum" again!

i used to work for "The Alternate Source" (TAS) in lansing MI.
we monitored a running philosophical slugfest between Mike
Denman of ... of ... right; "Med Systems" and a small independent
programmer over the copyright protection issue.

Mr. Denman wrote "asylum".  back in '82 (or so), i moved to
Chapel Hill, nc.  i knew mr. denman was in town, so i looked
him up.  we had lots of fun conversations on programming, his
entrepenureal(sp?) experiences, and his favorite topic,
software protection.  i also got to scrutinize the asylum
floorplan he had posted on the wall.  also, he told me about
the "look up" thing.

i wish i could vector you off somewhere, but it's been so
long.  in fact, way way way back then, i believe he sold off
all or part of the company/product line/some fuckin thing to
some other company.  so the tracks become even more obscure.

another important issue--mike wrote asylumn in Z80, and used
the memory mapped display of the trs80.  so i highly doubt he's
rewritten it for some other platform; tho this business is full
of so many suprises, i guess i wouldn't be suprised if someone
did!

  but hey!  thanks for the memories!  that was a blast from the
past, fur shure!
