Elemental: War Of Magic question

I have a quick Q I can't find the answer to anywhere else.
How the hell do I summon creatures?
I've researched the spells, I click to cast it, and then I get the
cast spell cursor.
Then when I either right or left click, nothing happens.
I've tried on empty spaces, I've tried on my cities. I can't figure it
out.

It may be somewhere in the campaign that they teach you how to do it,
but I plunged right into the non-campaign game.
Any suggestions?

Click on the same space as whoever is casting the spell. It's a poor
interface decision that you have to do this given that is the only valid
target.

I see that WDS answered, but, while there's no reason not to post here,
there are some pretty active forums at http://forums.elementalgame.com
-- if you can cope with the two extremes of fanboy and hater posts that
may hijack your thread. (I've had no real trouble coping, and there's a
lot of good information there in the "stickied" threads, but YMMV).
