Finally got this one on steam for $22. I am a fan of SupCom and SupCom:FA. Loved those games, and FA was basically a refinement of one of the best RTS games ever. SupCom 2, OTOH, seems like they took a lot of what I liked about SupCom out, and scaled things way back. I like the new tech tree system, and I like how I don't have a bunch of low-tech, un-upgraded units all over the map after I am building better stuff. But the scale and pacing of SupCom seems to be gone. Whereas in SupCom, it seemed like I had to build up to a truly strategic war on a vast scale over time, SupCom2 reminds me a lot more of C&C, where I am basically having to click click click to beat the other guy to the big weapons punch, and whoever gets an experimental into the other guy's base first wins. And gone are the 20 minute builds for the really big stuff. I really liked setting up a bunch of engineers to build an army of experimentals over a long period of time, and marching them across the screen when I was finally ready. Now they barely take longer than other units to churn out, and don't seem nearly as powerful as they did before. And the campaign is pretty lame -- I gave up on it (out of boredom) after a few missions and switched to skirmishes. Oh well. Are there any new games in the works more along the lines of Total Annihilation and Supreme Commander? -- Hammer
