I've just discovered this classical game Railroad Tycoon, and now I'm
wondering if there's anywhere a FAQ.
I'm specially uncertain about the effects of setting train type to
"local", "through", "express" or "limited".
Any help is welcome, bye!

I do know it's a great game. If you do hear of a FAQ let me know. As for you question about train settings... Local trains make stops to load and unload at every station in their route (whether you tell them to or not). Through trains will pass up all Depots in their route (unless you tell them to) Express trains pass up Stations and Depots (unless you tell them to) Limited trains make ONLY those stops you identify. I hope that explanation is understandable... "...There's something eating up our days, I feel it every morning." -SK PJ Nagrom

This is a great game. I should revisit it. There is an excellent book called 'The Official Guide to Railroad Tycoon' by Russell Sipe (ISBN 0-87455-244-3) which begins where the manual leaves off. I found it very helpful - don't know if it is still available, though. The address of the publisher shown in my copy is COMPUTE Books 324 West Wendover Avenue, Suite 200 , Greensboro, North Carolina 27408. If a train is supposed to stop at a location, but there is nothing to pick up or drop off, it blows the whistle and keeps going. This is an "attention" signal since the train has been ordered to do something "useless" and you may wish to check it out. -- Disclaimer: these words are not an official position of my employer.

I also have Transportation Tycoon. I personally liked Transport Tycoon Deluxe a lot more than RRT - nearly the Perfect Sandbox Game for logistics and transportation i.m.o. -P. --- This email is free from viruses and malware because avast!
