Ok, I just took a look through all the CAB files and the rest of the
CD-ROM on the Plus! pack (build 300) and I could not find anything that
looked like a fix for anything. I see lots of WA8 (whatever they are, but
they are associated with the various themes) and WAV files, among others,
but none even remotely labeled a patch. Would you please name the names of
the files that are "bug fix[es]"?

Um...hello? Win95 is not in it's final version yet. Of course there's
no bug fixes in the Plus pack yet because they can still easily change
the Win95 code. The bug fixes will be put in sometime between the time
Win95 goes to manufacturing and the time the Plus pack does. MS already
said they will only fix "recall class bugs" in the latest build. Some of
the other bugs stand a chance of being corrected in the add-on.

Uh, hello? This still doesn't make any sense when you consider the fact
that the plus pack and Win95 ship simultaneously, and will probably even
be shrinkwrapped together in many cases, or in the same box. They will
also be pressed at the same time, so if they could put a bug-fix on the
pluspack CD why not on the Win95 CD? Also if they simply put (later)
bug-fixes on the Plus-pack CD to avoid haveing to recode Win95 itself,
then the vast majority of people who don't have the plus pack would not
get the bug-fix, and also if they did they would have to pay almost a
humdred dollars for a package that they only can use one small patch file
off of. None of this makes any sense at al from a marketing standpoint.
All MS has announced is if there are bug -fixes they will be avail in the
first wuarter of next year likely. People have confused this with the Plus
Pack that's all.

You can hardly blame MS for providing it's customers with the latest updates
when they buy the plus-pack. See it as a plus-pack add-on.

No, my dear Joseph, are you completely stupid or what?

MS has not released Win95. So, there would be no reason to release
bug fixes in the beta of the Plus Pack would there. Wether MS will
release bug fixes or not, I don't know. It would be rather stupid not
to, if they fix bugs between the Win95 release and the plus pack
release...

Terje, Plus pack and Win95 are scheduled to be released SIMULTANEOUSLY, get it?

Your statements above do not lead to the conclusion that the Plus! pack
will not be a vehicle for bug fixes. Naturally, since the fixes are to deal
with bugs which cannot be fixed in time for the "code lock" on Win95, and
this code lock has not yet happened, then the fixes will not yet be present
in Plus! You are dealing with a beta product and it is never a good idea to
make firm conclusions based on a beta. You stand a good chance of being wrong.

Just because they are released simultaneously does not mean that they go to
production simultaneously or that the "code lock" is initiated simultaneously.
It takes a lot longer for an OS to get to market, especially when you have to
supply it to OEMs so far in advance. OEMs don't care about the Plus pack or
at least don't have to get their hands on it so far in advance.
