Only somebody with a few screws loose in the upper story would ever make this feature a mandatory requirement before considering the purchase of a game. There is always Gamecopy.com to relieve such anxieties for legitimate purchasers. >Has Supreme Commander single-player mode? > Yes... Campaign 18 missions, 6 for each faction. You do know how to search with Google, don't you ? Oh, I forgot, you are on a 33K modem, so Google pages come up abysmally slowly and you can't visit graphically-intensive sites....Feels a bit like being on a desert island these days, doesn't it? Except most inhabited desert islands probably now have faster internet connections than you do.... No wonder you have all these questions for us on SC instead of quickly perusing Google hits and the on-line SC game previews and reviews. >If yes is Internet Mandatory in any way when playing Supreme Commander >single-player mode only? Like having some kind of online activation? > No idea... have not yet bought the game. Considering the very steep system requirements for a satisfactory gaming experience in SP mode, I expect it to be discounted very rapidly after the initial rush of strategy-enthusiasts. >If no then it means Supreme Commander with the latest patch installs >and plays exactly like Company of Heroes right? > Not quite, it is a totally different type of game... SC is the spiritual successor to Total Annihilation. >Thanks! > With your obsolete PC machinery, Supreme Commander should be a slide-show very frequently in SP mode. The game is fully multicore-aware and the SP AI apparently requires genuine dual-core horsepower when large numbers of units are in action. Need a fast dual-core processor, a high-end graphics card, a very large-screen monitor or even better still --- dual monitors. SC does not seem to be exactly your type of game, according to what I have gathered from your many postings. However, just go ahead and buy it at full price to add another spiked butterfly to your collection. Yep, throw your money away again instead of putting it towards that fancy new quad-core PCIe PC and that desperately-needed broadband connection. John Lewis
