The GeForce FX card is the problem - you'll need at at least a GeForce 6 
series card to run the game.  I have a GeForce FX 5700 in my old computer 
and got the same error message even though everything else on that computer 
was well above the minimum spec for the game.  I believe the GeForce FX 
series actually does have pixel shader 2.0 support but it was a rush job on 
the part of nVidia and poorly implemented.  I'm guessing that perhaps Chris 
Taylor and company did not want the belly-aching from customers that surely 
would have resulted from the poor performance of that series of video cards 
and therefore decided to shut them out.
