On Tue, 17 Jun 1997 00:29:30 +1000, the skies darkened, thunder struck, and
the words of philbert echoed in our minds:

:Bullshit buddy .I can identify the week commencing the 20th of June
:1997. So why can`t i identify the millenium starting at the end of this
:century?

For the same reason you can't "decide" that a new week starts on Wednesday.
Because it just ain't so!

:2000ad to 3000ad. There i just did it and it is pretty clear to
:all what this means. You start at the start of the year 2000 and count
:all the years until you reach 1000 and there you have it 3000ad.

If you start with the year 2000 and count 1000 years, you will end with the
year 2999, not 3000. Tell me... with what year do you begin your 1st
millennium? By the methodology you are trying to imply (grossly corrupted
by your inability to count), you begin counting with the year 1 b.c.
(remember... there was no year 0). That makes no damned sense. It doesn't
follow, in a logical sense, the established calendar that much of the world
uses.

<snip a load of crap>
