The cons of Steam were finally outweighed by my desire to play that game. Since then I have acquired half a dozen games that happen to be Steam titles and have had no issues or problems. It did not cause me to go blind or anything. YMMV. Shogun 2 - Total War, however, is the first game I've ever bought that I cannot pin to my Start menu (XPSP3) for reasons that baffle me. When installing I unchecked the 'desktop shortcut' option but left the 'pin to start menu' option selected but it didn't actually do so and no matter what I try I cannot pin this one game. All my other games (Steam or otherwise) work. Weird. :/ - Sheldon
