Infantry tactics game?

Are there any good games about 20th century infantry tactics? I'm thinking
squad/platoon-level, with emphasis on infantry and light weapons.

I've read a little about the Close Combat series, but isn't that rather old?
Would it even be able to run on Windows XP on a modern computer? Are there
alternatives?

I don't specifically want real-time, but I find it difficult to imagine how
turn-based could work, without reducing the number of units to too few...
