Like Bob Gamble, I too would give this game a solid "B." I am really impressed with the interface for creating new scenarios. Like Bob, I do not miss the world conquest of the earlier games at all. I much prefer the set-piece battles that have a historical feel. Still trying to get the modem connection to work. One more *very important* characteristic of the AI: As far as I know, it does NOT cheat. You can easily handicap yourself in the game to provide a greater challenge if you want. With some games, the more you dig inside them, the more shallow you realize they are. I think this game has depth, a sophistication hidden by a simple user interface. Once some of the more creative types among us figure out how to manipulate these underlying features... we are going to have more dyno-mite scenarios. Of course, the more I play, the more I wish for additional features: different terrain levels, terrain obstructions of line of site. I also become more appreciative of other features: the impact of supply on combat effectiveness and a morale breakpoint to name two. It's an elegant little game. Not earth shattering or something to set your eyes twirling like pinwheels. It's fun wargaming lite for people who like to tinker. Well worth the $35 I paid for it at Best Buy. Chuck Smith 8^)**
