A good compound bow is good for at least 100 yards and a crossbow is good for 200 yards. Out ranging any pistol, or SMG, yes they are slow to reload but they are quiet. They would have there uses, but with the inaccurate damage model, in the game they would be of little effect. Handgun rounds are only marginally effective. There advantage is that they are easy to carry around. A 9mm had about 350 foot pounds of energy, while 308 has 2000 foot pounds. There is no substitute for a rifle. A arrow/bolt also has more energy and penetration than any handgun round, I would use the bows until they were alerted then break out the rifles. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks." --Thomas Jefferson Have Gun Will Travel Wire Pali...@uswest.net
