If you liked Sim City, and can laugh at religion, you might find it
amusing for awhile...

Unfortunatly, there are too many little things that are left out of the
documentation that make the game rather annoying. An example of this, is
that the location & distance you build your various zones of reward or
punishment, will affect your general efficency. Is this in the manual?
No. It's not even in the strategy guide (which I bought :(

Although perhaps the biggest complaint folks have had about this game,
is the concept of "balance". Every so often, your buildings will go out
of "balance", requiring your to click on each building and move this little
slider bar accordingly. Why? I don't know really... I do know that if
you don't do it, your buildings won't progress very well, and in general
you'll lose money. Of course, when you've built up a so-so sized heaven
and hell, you might have 100s if not 1000s of buildings you have to click
and balance. You can pay to have all buildings balanced...but it's far
too expensive.

Lucas Arts packages this as part of their "Lucas Arts Classics III" or
somesuch. For $30, you get Afterlife, along with some of their newer
adventure games (The Dig, Full Throttle, Monkey Island 2.) At that
price, it's a good buy if you like their adventure games. And, as a
bonus, you'll get Afterlife.
