Why....cause they want you to use MSN. Don't be too sure that MSN will come included in Win95 when it finally is released. The Department of Justice has been carrying out an ongoing investigation into whether or not MSN's inclusion in Win95 is anti-competitive and give MS ann unfair advantage in the Internet service provider arena. The basis for the argument is that, based on the likelihood that Win95 will be on a very large number of computers in a fairly short time, other third party providers will not even be considered. This may be illegal because MS is using its virtual monopoly of the OS market to try and achieve a monopoly of the service provider market. According to the latest PC Week, the DOJ did not rule out the possibility of taking action within the week (meaning certain delays for Win95). Needless to say, this has Compuserve officials pretty excited. Rob Vanden Heuvel
