I uncovered clues pointing to Zatar (za...@cherokee.wildstar.net) having written: >Hmmm, a bug that I haven't seen mentioned is the inaccurate population >statements. I think this might have happened in HoMM1 also, but I >don't remember. Anyway, it says "Plague! Population growth is halved" >and there is no population growth at all. Also it sometimes says >"Population growth is doubled" but the growth is normal. I am not sure it's a bug as much as a thinko (different than a typo). There is no population growth in a plague month and 1/2 of the guys you had not bought in any of the buildings are halfed. I hate those things, that's why I always follow this commandment. "Thou shalt not proceed to the first day of the week without having saved on the seventh day..." since it's random you can reload and avoid a plague... (I didn't know you could, til by some fluke I figured it out. ;) >Seems to me like the Necro populations should double with the plague >and half with the life growth anyway. :) Nice idea!! >Also I noticed that in the campaign game you never get more random >monsters when a particular monster type grows extra like in HoMM1. >I've seen this happen in the scenarios but to a lesser extent than I >remember them. I'm pretty sure this isn't a "bug" though. :) Umm... are you sure? I have observed the wandering monsters are replaced down. Though I think I have observed, for example, if you get +5 unicorn growth, that unicorn wandering monsters will show up where there weren't any previously... I think it is because the maps don't keep track of the monster that was there once it is killed but rather the level of the monster, and thus you have a random chance of a level 2 monster showing up in a level 2 spot each time you see the +X bonus on some given Level 2 monsters. And the same would go for all levels 1-4. Just a thought or a theory. -- ***************************************************************** * Raymond Bingham * Fort Collins System Lab - Hewlett Packard * * (aka. wReam...) * ra...@shofixti.fc.hp.com - 100% MY opinion * ***************************************************************** * The internet needs a lobotomy to recover from its lobotomy. * *****************************************************************
